Inter Milan are eyeing up a move for Venezia midfielder Hans Nicolussi Caviglia as a possible midfield reinforcement.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Il Giorno, via FCInterNews.
Nicolussi Caviglia has been one of the standout performers for Venezia this season.
The Italian joined the Lagunari in the summer from Juventus. He made the move for a fee of around €5 million.
And Nicolussi Caviglia has found some of his best form playing under Eusebio Di Francesco.
The 24-year-old has been a vital player at the heart of midfield for Venezia as they fight to remain in Serie A.
Nicolussi Caviglia and Venezia will be facing some very formidable opposition this evening.
The newly-promoted team host reigning champions Inter, meanwhile. Even playing at home at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo, they will certainly be big underdogs.
And according to Il Giorno, the Nerazzurri will have their eyes on Nicolussi Caviglia in today’s match.
Inter are considering making midfield reinforcements as early as this month.
Injuries to Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have reinforced the need for sufficient midfield depth.
And then, there is the matter of Davide Frattesi’s very uncertain future at Inter.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri are looking around at possible midfield signings.
And according to Il Giorno, Nicolussi Cavgilia is one name that is on Inter’s list.
Having shown flashes of his quality on loan at Salernitana and then in his opportunities for Juventus last season, the young midfielder could get another chance at a big club on the basis of his performances for Venezia.
