This weekend will see the penultimate matchweek of the season play out in Serie A.

And there are plenty of teams with a lot to play for.

At the top of the table, Inter Milan and Napoli are still very much fighting for the Serie A title. Napoli’s draw against Genoa yesterday evening means that just a point separates the two teams at the top.

Then, there is a slew of teams fighting for Champions League qualification, and for the European spots more generally.

Meanwhile, at the bottom of the table, the fight to avoid relegation to Serie B is fierce.

The Lega Serie A have decided that for the final two matchdays, all teams playing for the same objectives will play their matches at the day.

That way, no team will play already knowing what result a direct rival for the title, for a European place, or in the relegation dogfight got in their matches.

And with so many teams still chasing important objectives, that means most matches.

For example, Inter Milan will be taking on Lazio. The Biancocelesti still very much have a chance of qualifying for the Champions League after their draw against Juventus this weekend.

Meanwhile, Inter’s title rivals Napoli take on Parma. Parma are not yet mathematically safe from relegation.

Therefore, it is clear that those will be among the matches that kick off concurrently.

According to Mediaset, the likely time for them – and any other matches involving teams with some concrete objective left to play for – will be 20.45 CET on Sunday evening.

And that would in fact mean at least nine out of ten matches.

On the other hand, if Atalanta are to secure Champions League qualification in their match against Roma this evening, then their clash with Genoa could kick off at a different time.
