Bayer Leverkusen are keen to sign Paris Saint-Germain loanee Nordi Mukiele on a permanent basis, according to Kicker.
Mukiele was brought in on loan without an option to buy last summer to fill the void left by the departure of Odilon Kossounou to Atalanta.
At the time, Mukiele wasn't expected to be signed permanently, but that has changed, as the Frenchman has proven to be a consistent and versatile performer at the back, Kicker reports.
Die Werkself are now hoping that a fee can be agreed with PSG, who no longer have any use for Mukiele.
Bayer 04 managing director for sport Simon Rolfes recently discussed the possibility of making Mukiele's loan move permanent, saying:
“It’s still too early to assess that, but Nordi [Mukiele] has developed very well after a difficult start.
“He is totally integrated into the team, and he is performing really well."
Mukiele, who turns 28 years old in November, has featured 17 times this season, racking up a goal and an assist.
