Following the sacking of Marco Rose as coach of RB Leipzig, Zsolt Löw has been appointed interim coach for the remainder of the season while the club look for a permanent replacement.

Sky Germany now reports that a favorite has emerged in the search, with Sheffield Wednesday coach Danny Röhl said to be in pole position for the job.

Leipzig's coaching selection committee, consisting of managing director for sport Marcel Schäfer, Red Bull's global head of soccer Jürgen Klopp, technical director Mario Gomez and supervisory board chairman Oliver Mintzlaff, are said to have been impressed with the 35-year-old's style of play and man-management.

Röhl is no stranger to Leipzig, having worked there in various coaching roles in the past.

However, Leipzig are not the only club to have noticed Röhl's qualities, with Southampton, Leicester City and Crystal Palace also reportedly interested.

Alongside Röhl, Leipzig are also said to be considering Roger Schmidt (currently without a job), Matthias Jaissle (Al-Ahli) and Thomas Frank (Brentford) among others.
