FC Barcelona are determined to secure the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor and are seeking to do so through an urgent precautionary measure from the courts as confirmed by Joan Laporta earlier today.

This move comes as the Blaugrana struggle to secure sufficient revenue in just a few days for La Liga to authorise the two players to compete.

While the Catalans are closing the agreement with Nike, it will not be enough for them to return to the 1:1 salary cap rule, which would allow them to operate more normally within the financial constraints.

How much do Barcelona need?

As per Ferran Correas of SPORT, beyond the Nike deal, Barcelona still need approximately €60 million to reach the famous 1:1 Fair Play rule, which would enable them to use every euro earned from player sales or saved wages to reinvest into the squad.

In recent weeks, Barcelona have been taking steps to generate income that could help resolve their salary cap issues with La Liga.

The deal with Nike was finalised a few weeks ago and will be approved by the club’s members this weekend. However, the Blaugrana still need additional revenue to balance their budget and have a sufficient salary cap available.

Following meetings with La Liga, it has become clear that an additional €60 million is required to cover the shortfall left by the Barça Vision project.

Barça have been exploring the possibility of new partners joining Barça Vision following payment defaults by Libero.

However, they have opted to freeze this idea until new investors who can contribute more to the project, particularly in terms of business development, are found.

Several companies are interested, but the Catalans are seeking a partner who can help develop the future business plan and has a strong connection to audiovisual products.

With this option ruled out, Barcelona began negotiations for the sale of VIP seats in the new Camp Nou, through the commercial agency Sixth Street, which also facilitated a similar deal with Real Madrid this summer.

Proposals are already on the table that could secure around €200 million in revenue, but the La Liga leaders do not wish to rush into any decision.

In any case, Barcelona are certain that the €60 million will be secured before June 30, which will balance the books and allow the club to sign players in the summer transfer window and operate normally.
