Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Greek wonderkid Stefanos Tzimas, an 18-year-old striker currently shining during his loan spell at FC Nurnberg from PAOK.

Tzimas has been making waves in Germany, and with his loan deal nearing its conclusion, the race for his signature is heating up.

As quoted by The Boy Hotspur, Nurnberg holds an option to make the deal permanent for €18 million, but reports from BILD suggest they might activate the clause only to sell him on for a profit.

The German club is allegedly setting a resale price of €24 million, attracting interest from Premier League sides Tottenham, Chelsea, West Ham, and Newcastle.

For Spurs, who are keen to strengthen their attacking lineup, Tzimas presents an intriguing prospect. The teenager has shown immense potential and versatility, making him a viable long-term option for a team aiming to compete at the top level.

Throughout his career, including youth competitions, he has scored an impressive 24 goals. This season alone, he has netted 7 goals and provided 1 assist in Germany's second division.

Tzimas would fit this mould perfectly, bringing a fresh attacking option to North London. While he’s still raw, the opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals in a competitive environment like the Premier League could accelerate his development.

The reported price tag of €24 million seems reasonable, particularly given Spurs’ resources and the potential Tzimas offers.

If the Greek forward can fulfil his promise, the investment could prove a bargain in the years to come. Tottenham’s track record of nurturing young talent further enhances the appeal of this move.

Of course, Spurs aren’t the only club vying for Tzimas. Chelsea, West Ham, and Newcastle are also circling, recognising the potential value in signing one of Europe’s most highly-rated young strikers.

Competition and opportunity

This competition might drive up the price, but it also underscores Tzimas’s reputation as a future star.

Tottenham’s need for attacking reinforcements is pressing. With injuries and a lack of depth in the forward line, securing Tzimas could provide the spark needed to boost their aspirations in both domestic and European competitions.

Whether Nurnberg’s reported strategy complicates the deal remains to be seen, but Spurs appear ready to step up to the plate.

For now, Tzimas’s next destination is uncertain, but one thing is clear: Tottenham are serious about building for the future, and the young Greek could be a vital piece in their puzzle.
