Now, according to L'Equipe, he is eyeing a move into football business with a bid for Nantes.

Alexander-Arnold's father manages an investment fund on behind of Trent and his brother Tyler, a director at the PLG agency that boasts the Liverpool defender among its numerous high-profile clients, and the family have held talks over buying Nantes.

Nantes owner Waldemar Kita is reported to be keen to sell among the ongoing financial uncertainty in French football and spoke with the Alexander-Arnold family in July for preliminary talks about a sale.

A verbal offer of over €100m (£84m) was proposed but, while Kita was happy to continue talks and hold another meeting last Thursday, he was not happy with the terms offered by the Alexander-Arnolds.

The bid is believed to have been raised to €150m but there has not yet been a response from Kita, whose true desire to sell is now being tested. The Nantes owner is even said to have outright rejected suggestions he could sell when contacted for comment.

Kita has previous when it comes to trying to avoid the public spotlight. Talks over a sale to Benjamin Leigh Hunt in 2019 were abruptly ended when Kita grew frustrated by leaks to the media. However, the negotiations with Alexander-Arnold and his family are thought to remain alive at this point.
