Nicolo Barella and Federico Dimarco could be at Simone Inzaghi’s disposal for Inter Milan’s game against Udinese tomorrow.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, both players left the Stadio Olimpico with bruises after Inter’s 6-0 thumping of Lazio.
However, Inzaghi will probably have his first-team stalwarts fit for Thursday’s Coppa Italia last-16 tie at Giuseppe Meazza.
Barella and Dimarco were both on the scoresheet on Monday.
Unfortunately, fatigue and several knocks they picked up in the capital prevented them from participating in training yesterday.
Therefore, they’ve resumed preparations for tomorrow’s fixture only today.
Despite avoiding serious injuries, Barella and Dimarco will likely start on the bench tomorrow.
Indeed, Inzaghi will probably turn to Carlos Augusto and Davide Frattesi to fill his first-team stars’ shoes.
On the other hand, Josep Martinez and Tomas Palacios could make their first starts for Inter this season.
Martinez has been patiently waiting for his chance since joining the club from Genoa in the summer.
The same goes for Palacios. The Argentine youngster has only made a few cameo appearances in 2024/25.
However, he could get more minutes against Udinese as Inter bid to reach the quarter-finals for the fourth season on the trot.
