Multiple reports this morning are speaking of a shake-up in the management at AC Milan in the summer, and the addition of a sporting director.

As a reminder, Milan have been officially without a sporting director since December 11 after the dismissal of Antonio D’Ottavio due to friction with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Jovan Kirovski. Since his exit, there has been speculation about a potential replacement, be it an internal or external hire.

According to this morning’s edition of La Repubblica (via MilanPress), the casting for the new sporting director has been underway for some time and will get into full swing in the coming weeks as we approach the end of the season.

The owner Gerry Cardinale is personally leading the search for an expert figure in the trade, intending to add a new member of the working group which currently features Senior Advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic and CEO Giorgio Furlani.

The main names proposed are Fabio Paratici (whose suspension ends in July) and Andrea Berta (formerly of Atletico Madrid, who left in December). Both have a huge amount of experience in the role and have been credited for their squad-building work.

Corriere dello Sport are of the same opinion that Milan will hire a new director, but they put forward two other names: François Modesto (formerly of Monza) and Igli Tare (who was last at Lazio). Geoffrey Moncada would return to being a chief scout.
