Some bad news has arrived regarding Alvaro Morata, who will reportedly be out for the best part of a month with a muscle injury that he has picked up.

According to Sky and MilanNews, Morata has suffered a muscle issue that will keep him out for at least three weeks and therefore he should be out for the next two league games plus the international break.

He initially felt a problem the day before the game against Torino on Saturday but he played anyway, scored a big goal and suffered a relapse. It is a big blow for Paulo Fonseca and Milan who immediately lose their new starting centre-forward.

The Spaniard will be forced to miss the next two league games against Parma and Lazio and will not report for international duty with Spain, who in the next break will be in UEFA Nations League action against Luka Jovic and Strahinja Pavlovic’s Serbia and Noah Okafor’s Switzerland.

The day before the Torino game, Morata felt what he thought was a minor muscle problem, so the 31-year-old gritted his teeth and made himself available to Fonseca for the match against the Granata, coming on in the second half.

Unfortunately, however, the injury worsened and so he will be forced to stay out for at least three weeks. The goal is to get him back for Milan-Venezia – the first match after the break – but the following week contain the first Champions League game and then the derby.
