According to journalist Adrian Sanchez, there is no tension between Pedri and Xavi, at least from Pedri’s side.

His entourage remains calm and denies any conflict with the former Barcelona manager. However, it is true that last season, there were suspicions that someone within the club was pushing for the midfielder to leave.

Recently, some issues between Xavi and Pedri came to light. Pedri made comments during the international break that reportedly upset Xavi.

The midfielder mentioned that since Hansi Flick took charge, the team has been working harder and has made significant progress in their physical preparation.

These remarks seemed to hurt Xavi, who felt surprised and disappointed by Pedri’s words, as they appeared to suggest that the team wasn’t working as hard under his leadership. Other players have made similar comments, which further added to Xavi’s frustration.

What’s the problem between Xavi and Pedri?

Xavi believes that someone influential in the Barcelona dressing room might be shaping Pedri’s views on the situation. This has been difficult for Xavi to accept, especially since he had always supported the midfielder both publicly and privately.

Even when Pedri was out injured, Xavi ensured he received the time and care needed for his recovery, never rushing him back onto the pitch. Xavi saw Pedri as one of the key players in his plans, one of the few players considered untouchable and not for sale.

However, there are rumours within the club that suggest Pedri may have been influenced by certain individuals who hinted that Barcelona would have considered offers for him at one point.

Despite all of this, it has been reported that when Xavi left his role as manager, he and Pedri exchanged messages of gratitude. However, conflicting reports remain, with some sources claiming that Xavi did consider placing Pedri on the transfer list.

Xavi’s close associates continue to strongly deny these claims, maintaining that Pedri was always an integral part of his plans.
