Inter Milan are hoping that Sevilla will end up selling midfielder Lucien Agoume to Arsenal next summer.
This according to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They note that the Nerazzurri could receive a significant sell-on fee for the Frenchman.
Last summer, Inter sold Agoume to La Liga side Sevilla.
The 22-year-old had spent the second half of last season with the Andalusians. And over the summer, they made the signing a permanent one.
Agoume spent several seasons as an Inter player. However, he never really made his mark.
Under Simone Inzaghi, the France Under-21 international was a fringe player in the squad.
Meanwhile, Agoume had loans with the likes of Spezia, Brest, and Troyes.
However, the Frenchman has established himself as a regular in the starting eleven at Sevilla.
And Agoume’s performances for the La Liga club have attracted some transfer interest.
Among the Frenchman’s suitors are Premier League giants Arsenal.
Reportedly, the gunners are thinking about a signing in midfield to replace Thomas Partey. The Ghanian former Atletico Madrid midfielder’s contract expires at the end of next June.
And the Gazzetta report that the Gunners see Agoume as having the ideal profile to replace Partey.
Inter, for their part, would be happy to see Arsenal move for Agoume.
As part of the deal to sell the 22-year-old to Sevilla last summer, Inter would receive 50% of any transfer fee the Andalusians receive for him in the future.
And considering that Agoume could be headed for the Premier League, there could be quite a substantial fee.
