Ricardo Peláez has refused to rule out an approach from Chivas for Pachuca midfielder Víctor ‘Pocho’ Guzmán.
The director of football was asked about the reported links between the Flock and Guzmán, but responded in general terms.
“We have a month from now until the tournament starts. It will be an atypical tournament, with many dates in a short time,” Peláez told a press conference.
“The door is open. We are looking for the best for Chivas, but I do not want to give names or give a specific topic at this time.”
Peláez was far more emphatic in relation to a rumoured swap deal with América, whereby José Juan Macías and Henry Martín would switch between the arch rivals.
“The second one you mentioned is not going to happen because JJ is in strategic planning,” Peláez insisted.
Los Rojiblancos have already made two key signings ahead of the 2022 Apertura, with right-back Alan Mozo arriving from Pumas and defensive midfielder Rubén González returning to the club.
