Luton Town boss Rob Edwards has stated that he will put all his focus on preparing his side for the clash against Cardiff City on Tuesday, despite it being played on deadline day.
The transfer deadline is at 11pm on Tuesday, the same night that Luton play their match against Cardiff.
Luton look to be a side that could potentially be busy in the remaining hours of the January transfer window.
The Hatters have been linked with a move for Exeter City’s Josh Key, while they are also said to be closing in on the signing of Jack Walton from Barnsley.
However, despite the potential of several incomings for Luton between now and tomorrow’s 11pm deadline, Edwards has made it clear where his focus remains.
He told Luton Today: “My focus is fully, and the vast majority of my work is on preparing the team and working with the squad of players and our staff.
“Our focus will be fully on that game and then we’ve got a board and a recruitment team that I’m working with but can be focused on other areas if they need to be on the day.”
As well as incomings, there is potential for Luton to be busy on the departures as well, as Bristol City and Swansea City have both reportedly made offers to sign Luton striker Harry Cornick.
If the Hatters collect all three points tomorrow night they can climb as high as third in the Championship, depending on how many goals they win by.

The Verdict
Edwards will be hoping that Luton can potentially wrap up some of these deals today ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. However, if that isn’t the case, he will make sure his and his team’s focus remains on the game against Cardiff tomorrow.
As well as getting in players you want or need before the deadline tomorrow is important, the Luton manager will know that tomorrow’s game is just as important as they can potentially grab three points that see them climb into the play-off places once again.
Edwards will pass on to the board what he wants the club to do in terms of incomings and outgoings, and he will hope that they can make it happen.
