Pompey were promoted as champions and will play Championship football for the first time since 2012 next season.

Mousinho has already made five signings during the summer transfer window - Jordan Williams, Josh Murphy, Reuben Swann, Jordan Archer and Sam Silvera.

The Blues will need to make a few more additions to their squad as they continue to prepare for their return to the second tier. With incomings heading into a new division a priority, let's take a look at a couple of additions that would make the rest of the transfer window perfect for Portsmouth.

Alex Robertson

Manchester City midfielder Alex Robertson joined Portsmouth on loan last summer. The Australian suffered a training injury in January that ruled him out for the remainder of the season, so he was forced to watch Pompey go on to win the league from the sidelines.

The 21-year-old is likely to be surplus to requirements at City, the club he has been at since he joined from Manchester United as a teenager, so he could be available this summer.

Robertson spoke to The News at the end of last season about the possibility of returning to Fratton Park for Portsmouth's Championship return.

He said: "I absolutely loved it at Pompey, I genuinely couldn't have had a better place to have spent that loan.

"Nothing is really in my hands. It all depends if City want to loan me, if City want to sell me. I really don't know, but I definitely have a lot of love for Pompey, I love the club, the people there and the fans."

Robertson has one year remaining on his deal at the Etihad, but if he is made available this summer, Pompey should do whatever they can to make the move happen.

If his performances during the first half of last season are anything to go by, his return would greatly improve Pompey's chances of a successful season.

Abu Kamara

Pompey have added wingers Murphy and Silvera to their squad already this summer, but another wide option could still be signed before the end of the transfer window.

Norwich City's Abu Kamara shone during his loan spell at Fratton Park last season. Bringing the 20-year-old back to the club would be the ideal outcome for Mousinho.

Pompey's boss spoke to The News at the end of last season about the possibility of Kamara returning.

He said: "I think he's produced scintillating football on the left, but done it even better on the right.

"Who knows what will happen with Abu?

"A really successful League One loan spell followed by a Championship loan spell probably sets you up for the next level.

"That's out of our hands and we'll just have to see what happens."

Belgian club Anderlecht are reportedly interested in a move for Kamara this summer. The youngster has also been linked with Leicester City and Stoke City earlier in the transfer window.

While it seems relatively unlikely that Kamara will be loaned out to Portsmouth again, there is still a chance it happens. Norwich might want to keep him, or he could be sent to gain experience in a different environment.

The winger admitted that he would relish another loan on the south coast when his temporary spell finished at the end of last season.

One thing is for sure, if Robertson and Kamara are in a blue shirt in the Championship at the start of next season, it would have been the perfect transfer window for Portsmouth.
