Roma are sending Ola Solbakken to Empoli on a season-long loan.

Following his return from Japan, Solbakken was promptly included in the club’s outgoing transfer list.

Despite training with the team throughout all of preseason and featuring in Roma’s friendlies, Solbakken was eventually ruled out of Daniele De Rossi’s plans for the upcoming season.

Thus, Roma decided to send him to Empoli to gain precious Serie A experience.

The agreement was struck yesterday, with Roma agreeing to include a buy option in the final deal.

According to Il Tempo, Empoli will have the option to make Solbakken’s transfer permanent for €3.5 million.

This would represent a major capital gain for Roma who signed him on a free after his contract with Bodo expired in December 2022.
