Niccolò Pisilli has revealed what he perceived the differences to be between how AC Milan played against Roma last night versus the meeting in December.
One of the sub-plots to last night’s cup meeting was that the Milan-Roma league fixture around five weeks back ended up being Paulo Fonseca’s last game in charge before being sacked.
He went into the game under a cloud with reports he was going to be dismissed regardless of the result, and indeed he was given his marching orders after failing to beat his former club.
Sergio Conceicao was the man who replaced him and results have certainly been a bit more positive, while Claudio Ranieri revealed after the game that he told the Portuguese something at full-time.
Pisilli spoke at a press conference after the game to give his thoughts on what didn’t go well for Roma and how Milan have changed. MilanPress had his comments.
“We approached the match timidly. Then we reacted, but in our best moment they scored the second goal. In the second half we were better but the 3-1 cut our legs off a bit,” he said.
“Differences between this Milan and the one from last time? They have strong individuals, but today I saw a Milan that was more of a team than the last time.”
