Roma will have to bear with Alexis Saelemaekers’ injury which will likely sideline the Belgian winger for a minimum of two months.
In the meantime, there is considerable talk of a possibility of reinstating Nicola Zalewski who was recently excluded from the team due to his decision to reject both a contract renewal offer and a proposal from Galatasaray.
However, as things stand Roma are not planning on relying on Zalewski.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Roma don’t seem willing to reinstate him in the group for now.
The exclusion, confirmed by the coach before the match against Genoa, is linked to a contractual issue rather than technical reasons.
The club is waiting for the player to accept the renewal of his contract, which expires in 2025, before reintegrating him.
However, the newspaper writes that if the situation is not resolved, Zalewski’s lawyers could initiate litigation to protect his rights as an employee, thus opening a possible long tug of war.
