The time has finally come for Roma and Lazio to lock horns in the first of the Derby della Capitale of the 2024/25 season.
This greatly anticipated showdown will kick off on Sunday, 20:45 local time.
Claudio Ranieri will have to negotiate this contest without midfield stalwart Bryan Cristante and right-back Zeki Celik. As usual, Mile Svilar will start between the sticks while Mats Hummels marshals the backline joined by Gianluca Mancini and Evan Ndicka. Moreover, Alexis Saelemaekers and Angelino should occupy the wingback slots.
In the middle of the park, the in-form Manu Koné should connect with Leandro Paredes who returned to prominence following the Tinkerman’s arrival, while the vastly experienced and equally talented duo of Paulo Dybala and Stephan El-Shaarway start behind Artem Dovbyk.
Roma (3-4-2-1): Svilar; Mancini, Hummels, Ndicka; Saelemaekers, Koné, Paredes, Angelino; Dybala, El Shaarawy; Dovbyk.
Marco Baroni received an important boost with Manuel Lazzari, Tijjani Noslin and Gaetano Castrovilli recovering in time, but Pedro and Matias Vecino remain out. Ivan Provedel will start in goal while Adam Marusic, Mario Gila, Alessio Romagnoli and Nuno Tavares form up the backline.
In the middle of the park, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru should maintain his role alongside Nicolo Rovella and Matteo Guendouzi, while Gustav Isaksen returns to the starting lineup at the expense of Loum Tchaouna, joining Taty Castellanos and club captain Mattia Zaccagni in the attacking trident, with Boulaye Dia expected to come off the bench in the second period.
Lazio (4-3-3): Provedel; Marusic, Gila, Romagnoli, Nuno Tavares; Guendouzi, Rovella, Dele-Bashiru; Isaksen, Castellanos, Zaccagni
