The mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, reiterated the Municipality’s commitment to the development of Roma’s new stadium in Pietralata.

Speaking at the Sport Industry Talk organized by RCS at the Maxxi, Gualtieri praised the design idea, calling it not only a modern and functional stadium but also a driving force for urban regeneration for the entire neighborhood.

“We are expecting the final project in a fairly short time. The Pietralata area is perfect: buildable, to be regenerated and public.”

“The project is advanced and does not only concern the stadium, but also includes a lot of greenery and the redevelopment of an entire quadrant of the city,” said the mayor.

Gualtieri also underlined, as reported by Adnkronos, the importance of having owned stadiums for sports clubs, a crucial element to fill the infrastructure gap that characterizes the capital.

Among other projects underway, the mayor also mentioned the completion of the metro for the Stadio Olimpico and the redevelopment of facilities such as the Pala Tiziano.
