Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has assured supporters that midfielder Bruno Fernandes will not be sold this summer amid speculation of a possible move to Real Madrid.
Fernandes, who has openly admitted he considered his future at the club last summer, has continued to dazzle for a United side which has fallen well short of expectations this season. The Red Devils sit 13th in the Premier League standings but Fernandes still leads the club in both goals and assists with eight and ten respectively.
With United clearly struggling to match Fernandes' ambition approaching his 31st birthday, reports emerged suggesting he could be tempted by an imminent offer from Real Madrid worth a whopping £90m.
Quizzed on the speculation, Amorim made it abundantly clear United fans have nothing to worry about.
"It's not going to happen," Amorim said of a possible switch to Madrid, before admitting he is up for the battle of convincing the Portugal international that he can still achieve his goals at Old Trafford.

He continued: "That is the challenge. I want Bruno here because like I said, maybe in the lowest moments of our season, we want to win the Premier League again. So we want the best players to continue with us. He's 29 [sic], I think, but he's still so young because he plays 50, 55 games every season. Between assists and goals, he's there for 30 at least. So he's the type of player that we want here, he's not going anywhere."
Amorim was then pressed to explain his confidence towards the situation and revealed he had spoken with Fernandes about his future at the club.
"We are in control of the situation, and I feel that he's really happy here, especially because he understands what we want to do," Amorim explained. "And then I think he's one more supporter of Manchester United and he really feels it.
"And sometimes the frustration that you see, everybody sees and says that maybe it's not a good thing in a captain, It's a sign that he wants this so bad. So this is the kind of player that we want, and he's not going anywhere because I already told him."
