Sale of tickets announced for Newcastle United FA Cup fifth round match – Brighton away fans | OneFootball

An announcement has been made for the sale of Newcastle United FA Cup fifth round tickets to Brighton away fans.

The announcement (see below) made on Friday 14 February, 16 days ahead of the match at St James’ Park.

Brighton fans will be able to buy tickets as from tomorrow (Monday 17 February).

Only 14 days now until the match but still no announcement from Newcastle United on when NUFC fans will be able to buy tickets and/or enter a ballot etc.

No mention in the Brighton announcement as to what the ticket allocation is for their fans.

The FA Cup rules dictate that away fans are entitled to 15% of capacity, which would be some 7,000+ tickets.

However, Brighton fans rarely come close to even filling the normal 3,200 ticket Premier League away allocation at St James’ Park, so it is difficult to believe they will sell more than that, even potentially less than what they would normally be entitled to for a league match.

I assume that Brighton will be selling tickets block by block and then after a certain point in the sales process, the south coast club confirming a final number of tickets they will be then trying to sell, with the remaining unsold blocks of tickets going on sale to Newcastle United fans.

Important information about allocated tickets:

Tickets that supporters purchase for away matches are for the sole use of the assigned owner. 1901 members will be required to allocate a first name and surname to the away tickets they are purchasing. Please note no changes can be made to the assigned owner or the name given to the ticket holder after booking.

Any supporter found to be passing on away tickets will be subject to a five premier league home match ban, during that time the excluded supporter will not be able to purchase away tickets and a 50-point loyalty point deduction will be made.’
