Salih Özcan: “Borussia Dortmund is one of the biggest clubs in Europe.”

Speaking in a goodbye to FC Köln fans, Salih Özcan justified his decision to join Borussia Dortmund after coming through the youth ranks at the Bundesliga club.

“I now have the feeling that the time has come for me to find out how far I can go in a sporting sense and therefore I want to take the chance that Borussia Dortmund have offered me,” Özcan told the FC Köln website.

“I hope the fans can understand and accept my decision. Borussia Dortmund is one of the biggest clubs in Europe. A footballer doesn’t often get the chance to join a club that regularly plays for the league and in the Champions League and has a similarly emotional fanbase like FC.

“Even when I’ll be wearing a different kit next season, I’ll always have FC In my heart. No-one can change that and that will always be the case.”
