Samu Omorodion will not return to Atletico Madrid after Chelsea deal collapses | OneFootball

Despite Chelsea’s deal for Samu Omorodion collapsing at the last minute, Atletico Madrid are unlikely to hang onto the 20-year-old. Omorodion had flown into London to complete his medical, but at the last moment, the terms were changed, and the deal fell apart.

Omorodion is believed to be just as frustrated as Atletico, but barring a surprise, the pair will not continue together. Matteo Moretto has explained that not only are his agents looking at fresh options, remaining at Atletico is not an option, as Los Rojiblancos had tried to sell him, and he feels that he should move elsewhere.

Reports emerged that at least four sides had expressed interest in Omorodion this summer, but finding a side that is willing to put up the €40m for the 20-year-old that Chelsea were willing to might be more difficult. Omorodion has shown huge potential, and has the raw attributes to be a nightmare for any defence, but is still entering just his second season in professional football.
