PANAMA CITY – San Francisco FC and Cacique Diriangén FC played to a scoreless draw in the 2024 Concacaf Central American Cup on Thursday at the Estadio Rommel Fernández in Panama City, Panama.

Juan Luis Pérez had the first look on goal for the visitors in the 35’, striking from a free kick to force a save from San Francisco goalkeeper José Guerra.

Miguel Camargo was denied by the crossbar in the 39’ as the San Francisco captain attempted to break the deadlock.

Diriangén goalkeeper Alfonso Quesada was called to make an important stop in the 45’+2 to deny Camargo from short range and keep the match scoreless into halftime.

Luis Coronel struck towards goal in the 76' as Guerra dove to push the attempt away.

Didier Delgado shot inside the box in the 90'+2 but was denied by the San Francisco defense.

Jason Coronel received a second yellow card in the 90'+3 to leave the visitors with one less player in the closing moments.

Juan Luis Pérez struck again on target via a free kick in the 90’+6. Anderson Treminio struck off a second chance but was blocked as time expired

Both clubs gained a point as a result of the draw. For San Francisco FC, the result marks its first point of the campaign as the Panamanians prepare to host CS Herediano on August 22.

Cacique Diriangén FC improved to four points to stay in third place in Group A. The Nicaraguan club will return to Panama City on August 22 to face Tauro FC in the Rommel Fernández.
