Jadon Sancho congratulated Bukayo Saka after the winger converted his pressure penalty in England’s shootout win over Switzerland at Euro 2024.

Sancho and Saka both missed their spot-kicks as England lost in the final of 2020 European Championship, with Marcus Rashford also off target as the Three Lions were beaten by Italy at Wembley.

The trio were all subjected to racist online abuse after missing from the spot with one man jailed following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police.

Saka, who scored the equaliser against Switzerland to force extra-time and the shootout, showed character to step up and take a penalty for England and successfully converted as Gareth Southgate’s side progressed to the semi-finals.

Sancho took to Instagram to congratulate Saka, sharing a picture of the Arsenal winger holding his man-of-the-match award.

“I’m so proud of this guy!” Sancho wrote with a love heart emoji and tag to Saka’s @bukayosaka87 account.

“You did it for me and Marcus brother!”
