Amid reports linking Domenico Berardi with several clubs, including AC Milan, Sassuolo’s Giovanni Carnevali has shared an update on the star. He made it clear that no inquiries have arrived to date.

Ever since his Serie A breakthrough in 2013-14, Berardi has been a hot name on the mercato but the requests from Sassuolo have always been too high. Now 30 years of age, however, it’s clear that there aren’t many chances left for the winger to join a bigger club.

It was reported last week that Milan are keeping an eye on the situation, with Samuel Chukwueze struggling, and the Rossoneri aren’t the only ones interested. Speaking to Rai, as transcribed by MilanNews, Sassuolo CEO Carnevali shared an update on the situation.

“There have been no inquiries to date. As of today, and he’s the first to say it, we are focused on Sassuolo. Then we will make the necessary evaluations, as we have always done in these years. We will sit down with the clubs that show an interest, but with him [Berardi] there is something special, we are always in tune,” he stated.

Although Berardi is a quality player, he doesn’t exactly fit Milan’s project and he has also stated in the past that he’s an Inter fan. A move elsewhere is thus more likely.
