Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali announces that Nedim Bajrami is close to joining Glasgow Rangers on a permanent €4m deal.
Albania international Bajrami is on the verge of joining Rangers on a permanent €4m deal from Serie B side Sassuolo.
“It’s being finalised but still not done. We are working on it. I think we’ll reach an agreement soon,” Sassuolo director Carnevali told Sky Sport Italia on Friday evening.
A former Empoli midfielder, Bajrami moved to the Mapei Stadium in January 2022. He scored four goals in 49 games with the Neroverdi, who were relegated to Serie B last season.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has made three appearances across all competitions with Sassuolo in 2024-25.
He has ten goals and 11 assists in 100 Serie A matches with Sassuolo and Empoli. His contract with the Neroverdi runs out in June 2027.
Sassuolo have also received an offer from Galatasaray for Armand Laurienté, but the Neroverdi are not considering a sale.
“We’ve been talking to them [Galatasaray], but we are not interested in selling him,” insisted Carnevali.
“He’s an important player to us. We are not considering selling him.”
Sassuolo earned five points in the opening three Serie B games this season, with one win and two draws.
