Liverpool pair Luis Diaz and Joe Gomez have emerged as surprise targets for the Saudi Pro League (SPL), according to the Daily Mail.

Diaz has been electric since arriving from Porto in 2022, even though his finishing has come under fire. The Colombian bagged 13 goals and five assists in 51 appearances for the Reds this term.

Gomez enjoyed a strong season, bouncing back from injuries and poor form to re-establish himself as an important squad member.

With the departure of Jurgen Klopp and the arrival of new manager Arne Slot, both players could be open to a move.

Led by former Chelsea sporting director Michael Emenalo, the Saudi Pro League (SPL) is actively seeking to sign players in their prime instead of veterans.

They have also been circling other Liverpool players – Mohamed Salah and Alisson Becker.

Gomez was linked with a move to the SPL last year, but Liverpool were reluctant to lose him.

Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring Diaz as they scour the market for Kylian Mbappe replacements.

They’ve also shown interest in Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate, but the Frenchman is content at Anfield.

Liverpool are looking for a new centre-back after Joel Matip’s departure. With Gomez’s uncertain future, they will likely step up efforts to add one immediately.

They have shown keen interest in Lille’s Leny Yoro. The young French defender was part of the third-best defence in Ligue 1, helping his side keep 13 clean sheets while winning 63% of his duels.

However, the Reds may not be able to sign him amid interest from La Liga champions Real Madrid.

The 18-year-old is valued at £50 million despite having a year left on his deal with the French club, but Madrid hope to secure him for around £30m due to his desire to join them ahead of Liverpool.
