Marvin Pieringer has made his move to Schalke 04 permanent as he signs from SC Freiburg for a reported €500,000.
The 22-year-old forward had initially joined Schalke on loan from SC Freiburg with the option to buy.
Having achieved promotion last weekend, Schalke were quick to announce the permanent deal for Pieringer who signs a contract that will keep him at the club until 2024.
Regarding the deal, the forward said: “Schalke is pure football and I am convinced that I can develop best in this environment. I am grateful to those responsible at S04 that we will continue on our common path beyond this season.”
Schalke sporting director Rouven Schröder added: “Last summer, Marvin became a part of our newly formed squad and has proven several times over the past nine months that he can be a dangerous player. He’s still young and is working hard to to constantly develop. We want to support him in this.”
