Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has denied reports suggesting that Karim Adeyemi is about to join Italian side Napoli. Speaking to Sky Germany – as cited by WAZ – prior to Saturday’s Bundesliga game against Werder Bremen, Kehl said that an impending agreement was “absolutely wrong.”
This comes after Fabrizio Romano reported that Adeyemi is on the verge of signing for Napoli with both clubs entering the final phase of talks with a transfer fee totalling around €40m.
On the subject, Kehl added: “That’s not true and it means I have to make more phone calls a day because new players are being offered to me. I can’t confirm that at all.”
Adeyemi started in Borussia Dortmund’s game against Bremen as they go in search of their first win in 2025. Four successive defeats across all competitions to start the year resulted in the dismissal of Nuri Sahin as head coach, with Mike Tullberg taking charge in an interim capacity.
As reported via our colleagues at Get Italian Football News, Adeyemi is also having doubts over the move, and is indecisive over a move in January.
