Verona and Genoa share the spoils at the Stadio Bentegodi, a result that allows Hellas to take another step towards mid-table safety.

Hellas were pushing to definitively break clear of the danger zone after a three-match unbeaten run, but Casper Tengstedt, Tomas Suslov, Cheikh Niasse and Abdou Harroui were on the treatment table. Morten Frendrup sat out a ban for Genoa, with Hugo Cuenca and Mario Balotelli not making the trip.

Nicola Leali was forced into a tricky save using his legs when Daniel Mosquera controlled a long ball over the top to get the shot away.

Mosquera again curled just past the far post from outside the area, then got it horribly wrong on what should’ve been a free header from eight yards on the corner kick routine, still forcing a save out of Leali.

Genoa almost gifted a bizarre goal when Koni De Winter misjudged the bounce of the ball, allowing Mosquera to flick it past Leali, but Johan Vasquez got back to clear.

Mosquera also couldn’t keep his header down on a Jackson Tchatchoua cross from the right.

Verona were denied by the woodwork on 80 minutes, as a set play routine was rolled across from the left and took a deflection off Patrizio Masini to clip the outside of the near post.
