La Liga outfit Sevilla have on Tuesday announced a series of injury setbacks in the club’s first-team squad.
This comes owing to developments in the Nervionenses’ latest outing.
Sevilla were back in action on Sunday evening, having welcomed Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid to Andalusia for a La Liga clash.
When all was said and done, García Pimienta’s troops were condemned to the wrong side of a 2-1 result, owing to a last-gasp Pablo Barrios strike.
As alluded to above, though, the eventual outcome proved only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Sevilla’s setbacks on Sunday.
This comes amid confirmation of a string of injury blows in the club’s squad.
As per a statement released across Sevilla’s website and social media platforms on Tuesday, all of Djibril Sow, Adrià Pedrosa, Rubén Vargas and Akor Adams have picked up fitness problems:
‘Sevilla FC’s first-team training session has absences this Tuesday. Following tests conducted on Monday on the players who suffered discomfort in the match against Atlético de Madrid, the club’s medical services report that Djibril Sow has a bruise in his right knee, while Adrià Pedrosa has an overuse of the adductor muscles in his right thigh. Both are awaiting further progress and will rejoin the group this week.
‘Rubén Vargas, meanwhile, has a grade II hamstring injury in his right thigh. Akor Adams, who did not train due to muscle discomfort for which he is undergoing medical tests, completes the list of absences.’
