Sevilla centre-back Loïc Badé (24) has turned down the opportunity to join VfB Stuttgart despite both clubs reaching a €20m agreement for the transfer of the French centre-back, according to a report from Foot Mercato. Badé was an integral part of Thierry Henry’s France Olympic team that went on to collect a silver medal during the 2024 Paris Games. The former Nottingham Forest centre-back initially joined Sevilla FC on loan from Stade Rennais before the move turned permanent last year in a €12m deal.

The outlet understands that Badé has declined the opportunity to join Stuttgart, despite the involvement of Sebastian Hoeness’ side in the revamped 36-team Champions League. The Sèvres-born defender remains tied to Sevilla with a contract set to expire in 2027 and Badé reportedly intends to remain with the Rojiblancos for a further season.
