Sheffield United fans to receive clarity on club’s future while manager holds talks with striker | OneFootball

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has spoken to at least five potential new signings over the last 72 hours, one of which is out of favour Bournemouth striker Kieffer Moore, per James Shields.

Wilder, as well as Des Taylor, the acting advisor for the potential new owners, are said to be very keen on securing the Welsh international who only has 12 months remaining on his contract with the Cherries and neither party wants to extend that deal.

The 31-year-old made eight substitute appearances last season in the Premier League, scoring once, before Bournemouth shipped him out on loan to promotion-chasing Ipswich Town in January. Moore would become a key figure in Ipswich’s squad where he made 18 appearances (14 starts) and bagged seven goals as Kieran McKenna’s Tractor Boys gained automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Championship club attempts to snatch Sheffield United target

Meanwhile, Blades transfer target Harrison Burrows has piqued the interest of Preston North End. The Lancashire club have bidded for the Peterborough United star but the Posh have rejected their terms, per Lancashire Evening Post. The source claims Preston are very unlikely to return with an improved bid.

It is claimed Sheffield United have a deal in place for the talented left-back, including a lucrative deal for the player. However, the completion of the transfer is on hold due to the takeover stalling, plus, the Blades are also working on a deal for another promising Peterborough player Ricky-Jade Jones.

Blades to give clarity on club’s future

In other news, Sheffield United’s potential takeover has moved a step closer to being completed, according to reports from The Star, who claim that supporters will get clarity on the situation at some point next week.

This will be music to many fans’ ears as the majority of the fan base has been very vocal about the lack of communication from Sheffield United Football Club regarding several matters.

French club want United young forward

Benie Traore, who spent the majority of last season on loan with French club Nantes, has been subject of interest this summer and it is Nantes who want to sign the Ivorian forward permanently.

Tribunenantaise, a French media outlet, has quoted what Nantes manager Antoine Kombouare has said regarding a potential deal: “We are still in contact with him, his entourage and his club. Today, things are stuck because Sheffield [United] is too greedy. There is another problem, which is that Sheffield [United] is being bought out; they are no longer the same people so it is taking a little longer. It remains open.”
