Leeds are looking to add Bogle to their ranks this summer, but there's a gap in valuation between the two teams.

Sheffield United have placed a £7million price tag on right-back Jayden Bogle with Leeds United interested in signing the 23-year-old, according to recent reports.

It was initially reported by Mike McGrath of The Telegraph that Leeds were set to move for the Blades' right-back.

But Alan Nixon has reported via his Patreon that the two clubs are well apart with their valuations of the player, with the Blades wanting around £7million if Bogle is to make the trip across Yorkshire to join their Championship rivals.

Leeds United will be desperate to sign a right-back this summer following Archie Gray's Tottenham departure, while Connor Roberts has also returned to Burnley following his short-term loan spell at Elland Road.

Nixon has reported that Leeds are yet to discuss a bid with the Clarets about Roberts re-joining, so perhaps their full attention is on a move for Bogle.

The latest report from the Yorkshire Evening Post is that Leeds have had a bid rejected for Bogle, but the club remain interested in the right-back and Chris Wilder has previously admitted that every player will have their price this summer.

Bogle has just one year left on his deal at Bramall Lane, meaning that unless the Blades can agree fresh terms with the player, he's set to walk free next summer.

This is clearly a situation that United will want to avoid, but they won't want to sell one of their star players to a Championship rival either.

The 2023/24 campaign was a miserable one for the South Yorkshire side, as they were relegated from the Premier League with the league's third worst points tally and the worst defensive record of all time, but Bogle was a rare shining light, and he managed to find the back of the net on three occasions for Chris Wilder's side.

Bogle has plenty of Championship pedigree with 115 appearances and an automatic promotion from the second tier to his name, and he's set to be someone who plays a key role for the Blades if they're to have any chance of making an immediate return to the Premier League.

It's clear that the hierarchy at Bramall Lane aren't keen on selling, hence the £7million price tag, and with the two clubs well apart on their valuations of the right-back, a deal may not materialise.

Despite having just one year left on his contract, the Blades will want a hefty fee should Bogle leave, particularly to a direct rival in Leeds.

Leeds United must sign a right-back this summer

A quick look at Leeds' squad shows you that they're short of options at right-back next season, as it stands, and Daniel Farke should be looking to add at least one player in that position this summer.

Luke Ayling has departed for Middlesbrough, Jamie Shackleton has departed for Bogle's current side and Archie Gray, who played right-back regularly for Leeds last season, has joined Spurs.

As it stands, the only right-back Leeds have on their books for next season is Rasmus Kristensen, who's set to return from his loan spell with Roma, but the Danish international has an uncertain future, and there's no guarantee he'll still be a member of Farke's squad when the transfer window closes.

Given his experience in both the Premier League and Championship, Bogle looks like the perfect signing for Leeds to fill their right-back void, but Sheffield United's £7million asking price looks as if it could be a problem, with the two clubs reportedly well apart in their valuations.

With just four weeks until the Championship campaign gets underway, Leeds will need to sign a right-back prior to welcoming Portsmouth to Elland Road on the opening day of the season, but given the difference in valuations of Bogle, it appears that any move for the 23-year-old won't be imminent.
