Newly-promoted Premier League side Sheffield United FC are set to sign Brøndby IF and Tunisia international midfielder Anis Ben Slimane (22), according to a report from Foot Mercato.
The Denmark-born 22-year-old is on the verge of joining the Blades in the coming days. Ben Slimane is tied to Brøndby IF on a contract set to expire in 2024. The French outlet understand the 29-cap Tunisia international, who featured during last year’s 1-0 World Cup group stage win over France, did not travel with his teammates for Brøndby’s pre-season training camp.
Ben Slimane has registered three goals and one assist in 22 Danish league games this past season. Sheffield United would need to strengthen to give themselves every chance of keeping their Premier League status for another season. Foot Mercato previously broke the news this week that prolific forward Iliman Ndiaye was linked with a move away from Sheffield United to Ligue 1 club Olympique de Marseille.
