Sheffield Wednesday could move to try to sign one of Tottenham Hotspur’s talents on a loan deal, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

The Owls are looking to strengthen further in the closing stages of the transfer window and boosting midfield options is on the agenda.

While an interest is held in Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Gustavo Puerta, Danish side Brondby are pushing to land him and he could go to Denmark.

Tottenham midfielder Devine is seen as a possible alternative and Sheffield Wednesday could make a move to sign him on loan.

Devine may move on from Spurs before the window closes as the Premier League side try to find him regular game time.

He spent the first half of last season on loan in League One at Port Vale and finished the campaign in the Championship at Plymouth Argyle.

Devine again has interest from the Championship this summer.

The attack minded midfielder still has another three years left to run on his contract at Tottenham.
