Manchester City’s pre-season preparations continued with a 6-1 win against Kitchee SC on Wednesday.
And after Pep Guardiola named a strong starting XI in Hong Kong, the Premier League champions raced into an early lead when Raheem Sterling threaded a through ball to David Silva and the Spaniard dinked over the onrushing goalkeeper.
Leroy Sané then made it 2-0 with a low left-footed drive five minutes before half-time.
And then it was Sterling’s turn to get in on the act with a lovely curled finish into the top corner.
Sané then grabbed his second goal to make it 4-0 early in the second half.
City made a host of changes during the second half and it was one of the substitutes – 18-year-old Nabil Touaizi – who made it 5-0 10 minutes from time.
Kitchee then pulled a goal back only for another youngster – Iker Pozo – to make it 6-1.
