Celtic took another step closer to a fourth consecutive title with a convincing 3-0 victory over Hearts at Paradise on Saturday.
It was a dominant display from Brendan Rodgers’ men, with the Hoops controlling the play for much of the game.
Hearts started the match well and created a couple chances within the first 10 minutes, but Viljami Sinisalo, who was making his first league appearance for Celtic, was equal to the visitors’ efforts and kept the scoreline level in the opening stages.
And speaking to Celtic TV after the match, the Finnish keeper reflected on a strong display from the Celts and on his own good performance between the sticks.
“It was great to be out there,” he said. “We probably started a bit slow, and there were a few things I had to do early doors.
“But after 20 minutes, the team picked up and it was a very complete performance.
“They were three very good goals and another three points, so that’s the main thing.
‘To play for this amazing football club is always a pleasure.’
“It’s great to play, and every footballer wants to play. There were a few things that I could do better, but it was great to be out there.”
The goals at Paradise came from Daizen Maeda, who continued his impressive run of form by grabbing a brace in the first half to make it 30 for the season, while Jota scored his fourth goal since returning to the club in January.
And Sinisalo was full of praise for the Hoops' Japanese forward, whose goalscoring contributions so far this season have helped put the team on the cusp of another league title.
Sinisalo added: “He’s been fantastic and it feels like the man scores every game! You’re just waiting for it to come.
“He’s been brilliant. Hopefully he can keep it going and I’m sure that he will.”
