Monza are due to sign Stefano Turati from Sassuolo, while former Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu returns to Palermo after 13 years.

The transfer market rarely lights up with shot-stoppers, but there have been quite a few moves this summer.

After Monza sold Michele Di Gregorio to Juventus, they were still without a long-term replacement, starting Semuel Pizzignacco for their Serie A opening fixture.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, they have now found his heir in the form of Turati, who turns 23 next month and spent last season on loan at Frosinone, but is owned by Sassuolo.

Monza had been pursuing Wojciech Szczesny, who terminated his contract with Juventus by mutual consent, but there are suggestions he could retire.

Meanwhile, Sky Sport Italia announce that former Italy and PSG goalkeeper Sirigu is returning to Palermo after a 13-year absence.

The 37-year-old is a free agent after experiences at Napoli, Fiorentina, Nice and Fatih Karagumruk.

He first shot to fame at Palermo before the life-changing transfer to Paris in 2011.
