Borussia Dortmund’s dealing could entail a negative impact on Man United who could receive two separate blows.

The first one is on the transfer market, as the Red Devils have been negotiating the potential transfer of Alejandro Garnacho with Napoli. The Serie A giants are searching the market for a new winger after selling Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain last week, and have identified the Argentine as their main candidate for the role.

The Premier League giants appear in favour of cashing in on the 20-year-old who lost his starting berth with Ruben Amorim, as a sale would allow them to fund their transfer dealings.

However, the two clubs have yet to find an agreement despite back-to-back meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday. So with the negotiations hitting a snag, Napoli have swiftly turned their attention towards alternative tracks.

According to Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Serie A giants have reestablished contacts with the father of Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi.

While the 22-year-old is keen on remaining at the Signal Iduna Park until the summer, Napoli are hoping to convince him otherwise which would allow the Italians to start negotiating a transfer with Dortmund.

This could constitute a blow for the Red Devils who have also failed to offload Marcus Rashford (at least for now), which could be one of the reasons behind his surprising return to training on Wednesday.

On another note, Sky Sport DE journalist Florian Plettenberg reveals that Erik ten Hag won’t become the new BVB manager.

The Bundesliga giants sacked Nuri Sahin following a torrid run of results, and the former Man Utd boss was being linked with the role in previous days, with some suggesting a reunion with Rashford on German soil.

However, Plettenberg insists the Dutchman isn’t in the running, so he’ll remain on United’s payroll after being sacked in November. On the other hand, former Bayern Munich boss Nico Kovac is the early favourite for the role.
