Celtic fans have witnessed a fair share of returns for club heroes in recent years. Brendan Rodgers was brought back for a second stint in the Parkhead hot seat in the summer of 2023. This winter, Jota made his return to Glasgow as well, merely 18 months after leaving and after having had failed spells at Al-Ittihad and Rennes. At the end of the season, when his Arsenal contract expires, Kieran Tierney will be heading back to his boyhood team, having already agreed a pre-contract with the Hoops.

Another Celtic hero has made his return to Scottish football. And while it is not at Parkhead, the news will delight the Hoops supporters nonetheless.

As reported by Sky Sports, Dunfermline Athletic have signed Victor Wanyama on a deal until the end of the season. After passing a medical on Wednesday, the Kenyan midfielder is back in Scottish football.

Of course, Dunfermline Athletic appointed Neil Lennon as manager recently. It will be great to see him reunite with Wanyama and a nostalgic sight for Celtic fans. Close your eyes, and you might see the Kenyan scoring against prime FC Barcelona in the Champions League.

Dunfermline Athletic are in a bad spot in the Championship right now. They are second-bottom of the table and two points behind Hamilton Accies as they aim to move out of the relegation play-off spot.

Wanyama and Lennon could soon meet another familiar face. The Kenyan midfielder might end up making his debut at the weekend against Ayr United, who are managed by Scott Brown. Talk about a Celtic reunion.

On the other hand, Celtic will be looking to get past the finish line in the Premiership as soon as possible. A part of the focus will also be on the Scottish Cup and a treble.
