Matias Soulé reveals that Paulo Dybala will be seated on the bench with his Roma teammates for tonight’s Derby della Capitale, despite a season-ending injury. ‘We need everyone’s passion.’

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

“I feel good, playing only once a week we are in better shape physically. I have also gained confidence in recent games where the coach started me, we feel that we are on the right track,” Soulé told DAZN.

The reason the Argentina international has been largely left out until recently is because he was competing with Dybala for a starting spot.

That all changed after La Joya suffered a season-ending thigh injury last month, which required surgery and is expected to keep him out of action until at least September.

Despite that, the former Juventus and Palermo star is eager to remain part of the Roma group and is overseeing the warm-up on the Stadio Olimpico turf.

“Dybala came with us, I think he will be sitting on the bench with us too,” revealed Soulé.

“We need everyone’s passion, obviously we miss him on the pitch, but will try to get a result for him and all the fans.”
