Manchester United winger Antony is not an option for Saudi Arabian outfit Al Nassr, despite reports breaking earlier that they had registered their interest.

Attacking Football understands that the Saudi club will not be bringing a right-sided attacker to the club unless they are under 21. This rules out a move for the Brazilian.

Sweeping changes have taken effect across the Saudi Pro League, as the Sports Minister previously announced business would not be as hectic as the previous summer. Clubs in the Middle Eastern country are expected to only bring in two names, but this excludes signing players under the age of 21.

So far, Al Nassr has made one signing, bringing in Brazilian ‘keeper Bento for €18 million. The 25-year-old has taken up one of these non-U21 signing spots.

This new strategy has been brought in to ensure the stability of the league for a long-time, not just a couple years. Clubs are now making signings that make sense for their squad, and it is likely that the Al Nassr management feels another position other than right-wing would benefit more from bringing in more experienced talent from Europe.

Delays in approving funds for clubs supported by the Public Investment Fund will also play a hand in Saudi transfer movements throughout the summer.

As previously mentioned, if Al Nassr bring in a right-winger, this would most likely be a younger prospect, and not a 24-year-old like Antony.
