Southampton have been suggested a master plan to restore Bednarek's lost confidence and improve their squad with Przemyslaw Frankowski's marquee signing. But, achieving that without Will Still's presence can be tough for the Saints.
Since leaving his fatigued-form behind, Jan Bednarek completed a starting lineup hat-trick in front of Aston Villa. But that's the only achievement the Polish defender can be proud of because his consecutive errant showings doesn't reflect good on his playing part.
As a matter of fact, he used to score regularly in the Premier League but that confident Bednarek seems absent. Blame the streak of injury hiccups or a temptation to leave, but the 28-year-old's attitude of giving his level best is gradually on the decline.
To boost his morale, Southampton can try reuniting him with one of his national teammates. And these ambitions can materialize in a matter of months provided the Saints give their sporting keys to Will Still.
According to a report from Football League World, Przemyslaw Frankowski can be a Saint in the near future should Still agree contractual terms to arrive at St. Mary's.
To begin with, Frankowski is a proven defender in Europe's biggest stages but that isn't the most eye-catching part. Instead, a compatriot right-back to partner right-sided central defender Jan Bednarek can be a shrewd move to bring the best out of both of them.
Bednarek will feel more familiar in the back-line and Frankowski will have less difficulties in straightaway adjusting into the surroundings. Plus, the Champions League pedigree Frankowski brings with him is the irresistible cherry on the cake.
There aren't as many transfers that appear destined for success as this one, and Southampton must test Lens' transfer resolve to acquire one of their finest stalwarts.
