Southampton prodigy Shea Charles has once again been signed on loan by Sheffield Wednesday. Though the Saints recalled him days ago, a new deal sees him playing at the Owls till this season.

There have been many memorable full-circle transfers in Premier League history. Though some like that of Nemanja Matic and David Luiz have been successful, for superstars like Paul Pogba, it wasn't that remarkable.

Still, the most recent Premier League full-circle story hits differently, being no less interesting than the above ones.

We are talking about Southampton prodigy, Shea Charles, who has changed clubs for the second time in around a week.

Days ago, the Saints recalled Charles amidst his loan spell from Sheffield Wednesday. Given the prodigy's performances in a while, it was certainly seen as a step to improve the squad.

On the other hand, Sheffield Wednesday was visibly impacted by this decision. To the extent that they wanted a likely replacement soon. Still, deep down, a re-move for Charles wasn't ruled out from Dany Rohl's side.

If this wasn't interesting enough, Charles was even rumored with rivals Sheffield United in between, adding further spice to the tale.

But, finally, as destiny had it planned, Sheffield Wednesday has got Charles back, at least till this season.

Southampton's official website certified a deal, reporting: "Southampton Football Club can confirm that midfielder Shea Charles will remain at Sheffield Wednesday on loan until the end of the 2024/25 season"

Clearly, Sheffield Wednesday has been the straightaway winner of this deal. Though Southampton gets additional cash for a new agreement, they would want not to repent for this departure later.

Given, the current Saints lineup, with most players inconsistent, Shea Charles could have made his way to the starting eleven.

Even at the worst, he could have added depth to the squad, for a struggling Flynn Downes, and a young Lesley Ugochukwu.
