Joe Aribo will look to leave Southampton at the end of this season. It is hardly surprising considering the Saints' position and he's wanted elsewhere.
Southampton's position in the Premier League table is widely documented but that doesn't make it any easier for Saints fans to take. Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll be aware that Southampton are on the track to become the worst Premier League team of all-time.
Of course, this is not the track which Southampton would like to be on. Nor is it the track which they would've envisioned after securing their place in the Premier League for this season.
In the summer, the Saints made many big signings. However, what was more important to the fans was keeping those players who helped with the Championship push happy.
One of those players who was key to Southampton last season was Joe Aribo. The former Rangers midfielder made 38 appearances for the Saints in the second tier last season. He also scored four goals and provided one assist.
So far this season, the same jubilation has not been felt.
According to a report from Daily Mail, Joe Aribo will look to move away from Southampton at the end of the season considering they are on track to be relegated. However, any Rangers fan who might be holding hopes about a return for the Nigerian midfielder have been warned not to hold high hopes.
The reason why Rangers probably won't re-sign Joe Aribo is due to financial reasons. He is unlikely to take a pay cut when leaving Southampton, so it's unlikely the Glaswegian side can cough up enough funds for his contract.
What is more likely is that Joe Aribo will join Besiktas, who are more up to meeting the wage demands which will be set by the player and his agents. Indeed, the Turkish side has shown a keen interest to bring him in in the summer.
Indeed, Joe Aribo will leave Southampton at the end of this season. If the Saints do achieve the completely unlikely miracle of avoiding relegation, then it remains to be seen if Aribo changes his mind. However, there seems to be a 0.0001% chance of this happening, anyway.
