Don Goodman has recommended Southampton to consider signing Peterborough United's Kwame Poku.
Ready for the harsh reality of Southampton's current helpless situation? An underrated yet impactful reason for their struggles has been the lack of collective sense among the Saints.
While the individualistic priorities of the club's players have come to be highlighted now, this was bound to happen at some point.
Know why? Due to a lack of shared identity among them. Just a look at the current Saints regular lineup reveals this.
A close look at their usual playing eleven lacks even a couple of players in the same department to complement each other's strengths and weaknesses. Ultimately, the fragmented feeling flows in.
But, interestingly, Southampton has a chance to at least improve on this aspect this summer. And what could have been better, now that they know where to begin from pundit Don Goodman's suggestion?
Recently, Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman recommended Kwame Poku as a solution to Southampton’s on-field struggles and dressing room cohesion.
Speaking to Football League World, referencing Southampton, Goodman said: "If I was a Championship club and I needed an exciting, ball-carrying winger that both scores and creates goals, he would be on my radar."
Notably, what further makes him a go-to option for Southampton is his nationality. He is an up-and-coming Ghanian winger, who could link up perfectly with compatriot Kamaldeen Sulemana to solve Southampton's miserable upfront issues.
Just imagine a pacy star in Poku on the right and an experienced dribbler Sulemana on the left, what a combo that could be.
In fact, it's possible that Poku compensates for the void left by Tyler Dibling's departure on the right wing.
Surely, that’s reason enough for the Saints to take Goodman’s advice seriously. But, again there remains a suspicion about whether the club follows it considering the ex-Wolves man's previous comments.
