La Liga giants Barcelona will reportedly ‘go all out’ to sign Manchester City’s superstar striker Erling Haaland as the club move back into a renovated Camp Nou.

The Norwegian international has risen to superstardom since signing for the Premier League club back in 2022, scoring 73 goals in as many Premier League games while collecting seven major trophies in that time.

Despite now being into the third year of his contract, which is currently set to expire in 2027, he is attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including the Spanish giants who have poached talent from top Premier League clubs for years.

Haaland has long been liked with a move to Real Madrid, and those flames have been stoked in recent years by his father – former Manchester City man Alf-Inge Haaland – who has revealed that Erling is keen on testing his skills all across Europe.

“I think Erling wants to prove his abilities in all leagues,” Alf-Inge said on ‘Haaland: The Big Decision’ documentary in 2022. “Then he can stay there (Manchester City) for three or four years at the most.

“He could be, for example, two-and-a-half years in Germany, two-and-a-half years in England and then in Spain, Italy, France, right?”

While all signs have pointed to Erling Haaland potentially making Real Madrid his destination in Spain, new reports from Sport claim that that Barcelona will ‘go all out’ to sign the striker as they move into the newly renovated Camp Nou next summer.

Barca president Joan Laporta was interested in Haaland while he was at Borussia Dortmund and reportedly held conversations with late super-agent Mino Raiola regarding the striker in 2021, before Haaland ultimately made the move to the Etihad.

However, Laporta is said to have grown close with Erling Haaland’s current agent, Rafela Pimenta, and could look to strike a deal for the star forward next summer as they start a new era at the Camp Nou.

Back on the pitch for Manchester City, they will turn their attention back to the Premier League this weekend as the players return from the international break for a showdown with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Premier League champions head into the weekend just one point shy of league leaders Liverpool after seven games.
